Munchies719

“Authentic Comfort Food with Great Entertainment”

Downtown Colorado Springs is filled with all kinds of eateries and food themes, and this #LimelightReview is on Munchies719 located at N Tejon Street owned and operated by husband and wife team, Chuck and MaryAnn Thomas, which is part of the main strip of many wonderful cuisine choices.

Munchies 719 opened its doors Nov, 23rd, 2022 on Black Friday. With a very unique menu and some amazing meals for a fair deal, also a great stop while shopping for deals in the downtown shops. Their specialty is comfort foods that are made fresh to order.

The outside entrance has the classic 1950's feel with an ice cream parlor and eatery, that appeals to all ages. It's Neon sign “Munchies” captures attention as the night sets in and Munchies719 has such a variety of food choices, with breakfast served all day and Tacos with green chili, a specialty favorite among the locals.

Munchies719 began as a food truck eatery service in 2019 and gained local popularity, as well as providing food for The Triple Nickle until 2022, when a space became available. Munchies719 then went from a food truck to a sit down restaurant. Munchies719 offers an outdoor seating area, happy hour everyday open from 3 to 6pm, Wednesday nights - Drag Bingo with HunNea Flava 7-9pm, Tuesday nights - Trivia with Miss Terrie 7-9pm, Sundays - Drag Brunch with Hysteria Brooks 11-2pm

Munchies719 also offers catering services to local businesses, events, and private parties, as well as venue and restaurant rental specials for special events, weddings, graduations and more, contact MaryAnn:

Brief interview with Munchies719 owner,

Chuck Thomas:

Momma T: “Chuck, What inspired you to open Munchies719?

Chuck: “l always wanted to have a restaurant where l could offer a menu of foods that are a homemade, fusion style that others will enjoy along with long standing comfort favorites, essentially something for everyone. I started as a food truck and then when the opportunity arised l moved into 122 N Tejon and opened on Black Friday November 2022.”

M.T.: “What are your future goals for 719 Munchies?”

Chuck: "Keep expanding the menu, build up the clientele, make it a spot the regulars come to for a meal and stay for other activities and entertainment. On our website we list all upcoming events. One day l also would like to expand Munchies719 to other locations offer comfort food and a atmosphere that people will want to spend time socializing in.”

M.T.: “Do you create the menu and prepare the food yourself?”

Chuck: "My wife and l prepare the menu, she creates the specialty drinks that have become popular among the happy hour crowd along with appetizer specials all made to order. I do food arrangements on the menu and most of the cooking with the help of kitchen prep, we use mostly from scratch homemade ingredients, very little frozen items and prepare every order fresh. We serve portions that will satisfy your appetite and have desert options made daily on site.”

As business started to pick up for the dinner hour, Chuck and Mary Anne joined their staff to help serve the patrons coming in and thus concluded our interview.

If you’re looking for comfort food with a friendly atmosphere stop in at Munchies719 and try one of their specialty drinks, along with a appetizer and a meal. The portions are plentiful and save room for desert with pastries, cakes, pies and ice cream!
